2024 Primary Elections
Voting in a Primary in Michigan?
Vote February 27 to choose the candidates who will run in the 2024 Presidential Election.
You must be registered to vote in order to vote in the primaries.

If you are not registered, you can register to vote in Michigan in the following ways:
Online: Register on the Michigan Secretary of State’s website
(To register online, you will need a MI Driver’s License.)On paper: Turn Up Turnout Ann Arbor registers students at various events on campus. Check out the TUT Instagram for where they’ll be next!
In-person: at the Ann Arbor City Clerk’s Office
(To register on paper or in person, you will need a MI Driver’s License, MI ID, or SSN to register.)
If you are registered anywhere else (in Michigan or out of state), and you want to vote in Ann Arbor, you must update your registration. You can do this online, on paper, or in-person.

The primary is during spring break! You need to make a plan to vote before election day if you are leaving town.
Once registered, you can vote via absentee ballot, early, or in-person on election day.
In-Person:
Find your polling location at mi.gov/vote.
If you vote in-person, you will need a form of ID, such as a Driver’s License or an MCard.
Satellite Clerk’s Offices and voting centers will be available on campus at Pierpont Commons and UMMA.
Remember – confirm that you are registered to vote prior to Election Day.
Absentee Voting:
You must first request an absentee ballot; you can do so here or in-person at the Ann Arbor clerk’s office.
You will then be mailed an absentee ballot.
Fill the ballot out and mail it back or return it in-person at the Ann Arbor Clerk’s Office by 8:00 pm on Election Day.
Early Voting
You can vote early in-person in the 9 days before an election.
Early voting for February 27 Primary: Saturday, February 17 - Sunday, February 25
Locations: City Hall, UMMA, Pierpont Commons (11:00 am - 7:00 pm)
